Curriculum vitae
Jacob Fjørstad Hansson
I build things that have to actually work — circuit boards, battery systems, autonomous boats and a workshop full of machines that make more of them.

BSc Electronic Systems Engineering

Most of what I have actually learned sits alongside the coursework — in the student organisations, the makerspace and the vessel projects listed further down.
- Bachelor programme Elektronisk systemingeniør, currently in the third year.
- Coursework across analogue and digital electronics, embedded programming, control theory, numerical methods and statistics.

Scholarship student & assistant paragliding instructor
Folkehøgskolen Nord-NorgeEvenskjer, Norway
A demanding year, and the one that taught me the most about responsibility and discipline. Being accountable for other people's safety in the air changes how you think about preparation.
- Returned for a second year as a stipendiat — part student, part staff.
- Assisted instruction on the paragliding programme and ran ground handling and site logistics for groups of students.
- Acted as the link between the student body and the staff, which meant organising, mediating and being the person who noticed problems early.

Air sports programme
Folkehøgskolen Nord-NorgeEvenskjer, Norway
- A full year of flying — paragliding, speedriding and skydiving.
- Aviation had been a hobby since I was twelve; this is where it became a skill.

Upper secondary — Sciences & Technology
Kuben videregående skoleOslo
Three years surrounded by people who also wanted to build things, which made a very large difference.
- Specialisation in technology and science subjects.
- Became the person the school called when the 3D printers stopped working, and learned printer maintenance properly on their Ultimaker 2.
- Rebuilt a scrapped printer frame into a working watercooled machine with a classmate, using parts the school was throwing out.

Carpentry & construction
Private clientOslo
- Built a full decking installation and fitted a kitchen for a family during my gap year.
- Working to someone else's deadline and someone else's budget, on a thing they had to live with afterwards.

Co-founder — electronics, power & hardware
Dialga (founded as Ligmax)Trondheim
Two people, an entire autonomous vessel, against teams many times the size. It has been the most demanding and the most useful thing I have done at NTNU.
- Founded around Christmas 2025 with Andreas Lindeman, two months after I joined Marinor, to enter the NJORD Challenge as our own team — competing against Marinor and the other entrants.
- Built Ligmax, a self-stabilising autonomous trimaran, as a team of two. Hull, power, electronics, perception and autonomy all in-house.
- The team became Dialga and is now building Mobula for NJORD 2027.

Head of Elektraverkstedet & board member
Linjeforeningen Elektra, NTNUTrondheim
- Led Elektraverkstedet (EV), the student makerspace at Elektra — tooling, safety, training, purchasing and day-to-day running.
- Sat on the main board of Linjeforeningen Elektra as workshop lead, and represented Elektra towards other student associations at NTNU.
- Built out the workshop's capability so members could take a project from idea to a finished, physical thing without leaving the building.

Hardware, electrical & mechanical
Marinor, NTNUTrondheim
Marinor is where I learned to build boats. Two months later, Andreas and I started our own team to enter the same competition — so I have spent the time since on both sides of the start line.
- Technical student organisation at NTNU building autonomous boats. Joined in October 2025, when it was getting going.
- Did a large share of the hardware on the organisation's vessel — electrical systems, battery and power, and mechanical work.
