Conversions and custom packs for myself, friends and family — the point where battery design stopped being a means and became the interest.
Alongside the longboards I built several e-bikes and the battery systems to run them — for myself, and for friends and family who wanted one.
Building packs for other people changes your standards. When someone else is going to ride it every day, in the rain, and charge it in their hallway, you stop treating the BMS as optional and start caring about cell matching, fusing, enclosure sealing and what the failure mode looks like. That habit carried straight into the vessel work years later.
